COVID 19 Response

From the Office of the Chief Operating Officer - May 20th, 2020

Warm Greetings,

As we continue to deal with the realities of the COVID-19 pandemic, I want to again thank residents and their loved ones for your patience and understanding.

While the weather continues to warm up and provincial restrictions begin to ease, please keep in mind that we are still required to follow the Chief Medical Officer of Health’s (CMOH) order that limits visitation to essential visitors and controlled outdoor visitation.

A designated essential visitor is defined as someone required to assist in the quality of life or care-related activities that staff are unable to provide or when a resident is at the end of life. The visitation limitations that were highlighted in our April 30, 2020, communication memo to you are still in effect. Outdoor visitors must wear at mask at all times and physical distance of at least 6 feet between resident and visitor must be maintained at all times. Visitors and residents not following the guidelines will be asked to end the visit immediately.

I want to remind residents that leaving the Centre is only permitted for essential activities such as doctors appointments, groceries, walks in the community for physical exercise, etc. Residents leaving the facility for non-essential services, home visits with family or friends, etc. will be required to self isolate for 14 days upon returning to the Centre.

While we are in this for the long haul, please know that we are doing all that we can within the current public health directives to keep your loved ones well and engaged. Please continue to visit our Facebook page, Website or call the Centre directly to learn more about the ways you can connect with your loved one. We will continue to provide updates to you as we receive direction from public health and the provincial government.

Stay well and joyful,

Wanda
Chief Operating Officer
