 Don worked with the  Edmonton Catholic School Board for 37 years as a classroom teacher, special education consultant, and innovative program coordinator. He has been retired for 7 years.

Don joined the Board of Directors of St. Andrew’s Centre in 2001 as the representative of St. Andrew Parish. Along with his fellow board members, he is committed to maintaining St. Andrew’s as a safe and caring residence in which seniors can age in place in safety and dignity.

  Fr. Andrew Bogdanowicz was born, raised, and ordained in Poland, came to Canada in 1998, and joined St. Andrew’s Parish and the Board of St. Andrew’s Centre in 2016. As a pastor of the Parish, Fr. Andrew provides spiritual care to the parishioners as well as the residents of the Centre.  He is happy to represent the Parish on the Board and foster a collaborative relationship between the Centre, the Church, and the Archdiocese

 Richard Ouellet is a registered social worker with the Alberta College of Social workers.  He obtained his honours Bachelor of Arts from Queen’s University in Kingston and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto.  He has extensive experience in the delivery, management, training and policy development for child and family services.  After 32 years of successful service to children and families with the Alberta Government, Richard retired having obtained the position of Provincial Director of Child and Family Services in 2010.  Since then he has been a consultant in projects including intensive assessments of child welfare policies and practices, board development and agency evaluations.  In addition, he is a member of the ACSW discipline committee and has served as an investigator of complaints against registered members.  He is the Secretary Treasurer of the St. Andrew’s Centre Board,  the Chair of the Today Family Violence Help Centre Board and an active volunteer at Edmonton’s Food Bank.

Keith Day

 Originally from Scotland, Keith has worked across the world in the Construction and Facilities industries.  His travels have taken him to work on projects in Dubai, Hong Kong, London, Seoul, Perth WA, Fukuoka and finally settling in Alberta in 2013.  Keith’s experience in Canada includes Property Management of over 2M square feet of Office and Retail space, and more recently, he was the Director of Facilities for a non-profit housing management body for low income seniors, managing 43 apartment buildings.  

Keith was motivated to join the St Andrews Centre Board of Directors to continue the great work already done by the Centre and has been a positive influence for his input to our Facilities and Procurement teams. After aligning with his own personal beliefs, and the Centres own vision, mission and values, Keith hopes to continue with the board to ensure our residents Quality of Life is of the upmost importance.

Keith is currently the President and Owner of a Construction company, and when not running his own ‘non-profit’ Taxi service for his daughter, he enjoys skiing in winter and hiking in summer and is an active member of the Edmonton Robert Burns Club and the Expatriate Rugby Community.

Carole is a lawyer with Edmonton Catholic Schools and was recruited to the Board by a former Director. Carole is very humbled to be able to give back to a community that she feels has laid the groundwork for many of the privileges she is able to enjoy and hopes to follow in their footsteps in laying a foundation for those yet to come. Carole is so grateful to everyone at St. Andrew’s, both members of the Board and the residents, who have been so welcoming, caring and inspiring. She hopes that in this role, she can continue to serve this community in such a way so as to always provide a vibrant, safe, welcoming and treasured home to all those who have chosen to make St. Andrew’s their place of residence.

 Perrin is a family physician who obtained his MD from the University of Alberta and completed family medicine residency training at the University of Calgary. In addition to his clinical practice, he holds a clinical lecturer appointment at the University of Alberta and sits on committees with the Alberta Medical Association and the Alberta College of Family Physicians. Joining the board in 2024, he has had the privilege of working in all levels of seniors independent and continuing care, and he hopes to draw on this experience to ensure that St Andrew’s remains a thriving place for home, community, and health.

 Deborah is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA-CMA) and retired in 2019 as Secretary-Treasurer (Chief Financial Officer) for Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools, after a career spanning 27 years and several positions. Deborah has a long history of volunteering, including with the Association of School Business Officials of Alberta (ASBOA) for 20+ years, where she held Board positions as Zone Director, Vice-President, and President. Deborah is the Treasurer for Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools Education Foundation in addition to the commitment at St. Andrew’s Centre, when she joined the Board in June 2024. Deborah works at the Parish one afternoon a week as the Volunteer Coordinator, and also volunteers as Lector Coordinator and with Parish Pastoral Council. As a Board member for the Centre and long time parishioner at St. Andrew’s Parish (over 40 years), Deborah brings her experience on Boards, especially with policy and procedures, and is excited to contribute to the well-being of the residents, helping to ensure St. Andrew’s Centre is a safe, caring, and welcoming environment for all who live here.

St. Andrew’s Centre’s Board is looking for volunteer members.

The St. Andrew’s Centre’s Board of Directors are ambassadors dedicated to upholding the mission, vision, and values of the organization. The Board of Directors work with the Centre’s Chief Operating Officer to ensure the effective governance of the organization and to support St. Andrew’s Centre’s staff.

Board members are elected and reappointed at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) by the Archbishop. Virtual meetings are held quarterly on the third Wednesday of the month.
