Dear Residents, Staff, Loved Ones and Visitors:
There has been much confusion surrounding Jason Kenney’s announcement yesterday. Unfortunately, the statement did not properly address communities such as congregate living sites.
The position of the Centre remains as previously indicated and as revealed in the letter from Dr. Deena Hinshaw attached to our website and on social media dated December 21st, 2020.
As a community we are viewed to live in a common household with each other. This is in part why we continue to have common, socially distanced seating in the Atrium and Garden Café giving residents opportunities to connect with each other socially. We understand that this a grave disappointment to the community but we must remember that we live together as a high-risk vulnerable population and that we have come to far in our fight to keep our community protected, safe and well to ease our vigilance.
As always residents do have the control over their personal choices. Should residents leave the Centre to go to another household, in our efforts to protect the residents and staff in our community, you will be required to quarantine away from common areas for 14 days upon your return to the Centre.
Thank you for your understanding on this matter.
