February 17, 2021 – COVID 19 Vaccine Update

We have received confirmation from Alberta Health Services that ALL residents who reside at our Centre, regardless of age, will be eligible to receive the COVID 19 immunization on Tuesday, February 23rd, 2021 from 9:30am- 4pm in the auditorium. The type of vaccine that will be offered is from Pfizer.  

All residents wishing to receive the vaccination must register in advance for an appointment. Appointments are being made at the request of AHS to reduce congestion and to maintain social distancing guidelines/crowd control on the clinic day. If a resident is on isolation precautions other arrangements will be made for you to receive the inoculation on the 23rd.

To make an appointment please come in person to the Atrium on Friday February 19th, 2021 from 10:30am- 1:30pm to book a time slot. The sign-up table will be located by the mailboxes. Please do not call the main office to attempt to book an appointment as we anticipate a high volume of calls and require the business line to remain free for daily operational needs.

Residents coming to be vaccinated must wear a mask to the clinic, should wear a short- sleeved shirt, will be required to present their Alberta Health Care Card and give verbal consent to accept the injection on the day of the clinic. Please arrive no earlier than 5 minutes prior to your booked appointment time slot.

After you have received your immunization, residents will be supplied with an aftercare sheet which will state the type of vaccine you have received and the date range of when you will need the second dose. The Centre will work in partnership with AHS to arrange the clinic for administration of the 2nd dose.

Any resident taking immunosuppressant medications should consult with their Doctor in advance prior to receiving the vaccine.
