COVID-19 Update

Dear Residents, Staff, and Visitors,

This is to inform you we have been placed on outbreak measures by Alberta Health. I understand that this may be concerning, frustrating and disappointing news.

Over the last few days, we have had 11 cases of COVID reported in our facility. Unfortunately, this means there will have been other residents, staff and visitors exposed to the virus in our community.

If you experience any symptoms of illness indicated on the attached sheet of this memo, please isolate yourself immediately and contact the main office for further direction. If a resident tests positive for COVID on a rapid or molecular test, isolation measures must be followed. All symptomatic residents, tested or not, must isolate for a minimum of 5 days or until all symptoms of illness resolve (whichever is longer), and must wear a mask in the community for an additional 5 days after isolation has ended.

Residents who are not symptomatic are not restricted from their normal daily activities.

You will notice immediate changes in our community as we reorganize common areas and services to promote social distancing. We ask that you kindly respect our efforts and to not rearrange the environments as structured.

All resident events, activities, and celebrations are cancelled until further notice. We will be suspending any future guest suites bookings temporarily.

Visiting is restricted to family members, loved ones, caregivers, and friends of residents only. General public access will be suspended at this time until the outbreak is declared over. All visitors entering the Centre MUST be actively screened at the health assessment desk in the main lobby.

Personal services (hairdresser, tuck shoppe, library, exercise room) will remain open. Resident should be appropriately masked when entering these areas. If you are using the exercise room, please disinfect the equipment before and after use.

Outbreak is declared over 20 days after the onset of the last resident case. There is no way to predict when this may be.

Residents are strongly encouraged to always wear masks when in common areas and to be diligent with hand hygiene. Food sharing is firmly discouraged.

Thank you very much for your cooperation, patience and understanding while we embark on the outbreak measures to protect the Centre and prevent further spread of illness. Should you have any questions or concerns please contact me at 587-525-8708.

Warm Regards,

Wanda Beaudoin
